ERG has been awarded two components of US Agency for International Development's global Accelerated Microenterprise Advancement Project (AMAP) IQC. The Microfinance Component was awarded to ERG under a consortium led by IBM and will enhance the provision of financial services to microentrepreneurs. The Enabling Environment Component, awarded under a consortium led by Management Systems International, will focus on legal, policy, regulatory, and institutional reforms to encourage the growth of microenterprises worldwide."

Shilpa Alimchandani Hart joins ERG as intern
ERG welcomes Shilpa Hart to our team as an intern for the Spring 2003 semester. Ms. Hart is currently obtaining a Master's in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University. Her experience and interests are in the areas of diversity, technology, and international development.

ERG helping to rebuild the Central Bank of Afghanistan
ERG is pleased to announce we are currently working to rebuild the human resources component of the Central Bank of Afghanistan in partnership with BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting). Our consultant, Kathy Walsh (former workforce development executive at IBM) will be working for ERG as a Senior Human Resources Advisor based in Kabul for 10 weeks to develop a plan for right-sizing the Central Bank. She will develop personnel policies and procedures to modernize the bank’s personnel administration. We are very excited to be a part of this important project.

ERG and MAI providing technical expertise to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
As a subcontractor to Macfadden & Associates, Inc. (MAI), ERG is providing expertise to research, update, and write security plans, contingency plans, procedures, and policies for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Strategic Planning & Organizational Development for USAID, Microenterprise Division
ERG is currently providing expertise in strategic planning and organizational development to the Microenterprise Division of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), in partnership with Deloitte, Touche, Tomatsu’s Office of Emerging Markets in Washington DC.

ERG developing a Business Plan for the historic Lincoln Theatre in Washington DC
The Lincoln Theatre first opened its doors in 1922, and is located in the now thriving U Street corridor of Washington DC. ERG is pleased to be working with the U Street Theatre Foundation to develop a strategy and business plan to launch the Theatre into a new phase of its rich history.

ERG conducts USAID microfinance evaluation in Senegal, West Africa
For USAID, ERG’s consultant Jacky Bass will conduct an evaluation of a USAID-funded microfinance and business development services project in Senegal, West Africa. The evaluation will result in improvements to USAID’s local microfinance programming and project design in the future. This project is a task order under USAID’s Accelerated Microenterprise Advancement Program (AMAP) Contract. ERG is a subcontractor to IBM on this contract.

ERG and Mayatech wins U.S. DHHS Contract. ERG wins as U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) contract through DHHS’s Program Support Center (PSC) under a subcontract to Mayatech of Silver Spring, Maryland. Under this contract, ERG will provide expertise in: Policy Assessment/Analysis, Program Assessments, Evaluation Design Studies and Data Collection, Performance Measurement, Technical Assistance/Expertise, Data Analysis, Auxiliary Support Services.

ERG awarded USAID Privatization II IQC subcontract. As a subcontractor to Segura/IP3 Partners LLC, ERG was awarded the US Agency for International Development’s SEGIR Privatization II IQC for global services in privatization, institutional capacity-building, and private sector reform. ERG is pleased to be teaming with Segura Consulting and the Institute for Public-Private Partnerships on this worldwide contract.

As a teaming partner with Bearingpoint, ERG won a 5-year IQC for “Global Business Trade and Investment” from U.S. Agency for International Development to perform Organizational Development, Institutional Capacity-Building, Organizational Streamlining and Redesign, and Entrepreneurship Training worldwide.
